Italy

Hi!

So as I mentioned in my first blog, I follow England all over the place. This match took me and the Mr to Italy. We decided to take in a couple of different cities as well as San Marino where the game was played.

First on our trip was Pisa.

It is a lovely city but my impression of it is that it is not geared up for tourists as much as I would have thought it would have been. As they have a tourist hotspot I assumed it would be different than it was. Anyway, you can't go to Pisa without seeing the leaning tower and it was a sight to behold. It leaned a lot more than I thought and the area around it was lovely. It was surrounded by grassy areas and a lot of people took advantage of the sunshine by taking picnics.

Our next stop was Rimini which is a small seaside place. We stayed here and coached into San Marino for the game. San Marino is a lovely place with stunning views. We didn't get to see much but what we did see was beautiful. The match itself was full of goals (England won 8 - 0) so a good time was had by all!

Our last stop and my favourite was Venice.

As soon as we stepped out of the train station we were faced with the canals. We couldn't wait to explore and after dropping off our bags we quickly got on a water bus and headed for the centre of St Marco. As we meandered through little streets over canals and down alleys we quickly got lost but what a place to get lost in! We didn't go on a gondola in the end but have made a promise to go back and we will definitely be partaking then.

So that's my trip. Sorry its a long blog but it was a full packed trip. And what I've learned is that I need to buy a house in Venice and go get me a boat!

Cheers

A x
