Bookworm ....

Hi!

I thought I would blog about one of my favourite things to do and that is read.

Now, I admit, I have succumbed to the age of technology and I do own a kindle but there is just something about a proper book that I still love.

My reading began when I picked up the first Adrian Mole book. The book has been read that many times it now has no front or back cover and barely a spine! I love that book and now have every diary in the series and am always hoping Susan Townsend will pick up her pen to write more.

I enjoy all kinds of books. Autobiographys, chick lit, thrillers anything really! My favourite authors are Wendy Holden, Marian Keyes and Sophie Kinsella.

My favourite series of books has to be The Twilight saga. I am a major Twi-hard and re read these books over and over again.

More recently I read the 50 shades of Grey trilogy and that was, shall we say, very interesting at times!

Books get our imagination going and a good book can transport us to the very scenes the author is describing. I much prefer to snuggle up with a good read than watch tv. The characters can look like I imagine, have mannerisms that I imagine and I feel like I'm creating a whole new world in some way.

So, give me a book any day of the week.

If you need me, I'll be in a corner somewhere reading. Shhhhhhh ..........

Much love

Drop beats not bombs

Hi!

This week's terrible events have been truly devastating. To think that there are people in the world who are able to want to not only take lives but also go out of their way to ensure maximum damage was done to everyone within proximity of their plan makes me feel sick. It upsets me that we now live in a world where you are constantly on edge and looking for any tiny suspicious goings on when we should be enjoying the moments we are in.

My thoughts are with the people of Boston at this time. I don't know how it would be possible but a change has GOT to come.

I am not one for confrontation and would rather people pick flowers not fights.

These people are cowards and if they think they have proved something to the world they are wrong as the world will prove something to them.

We will continue forward together as a world united against these terrible horrible people.

Drop beats NOT bombs

Haul!

Hi!

This past week I had myself a voucher and a few quid so I decided to go on a bit of a spree. In this blog I'm going to let you know what ended up in my shopping bags!

First stop was Primark where I bought shorts and shoes for my holidays, a sheer shirt to go with a skirt I have had for ages, a dress for work and a tshirt that I could not resist (it basically states what I am!)

Next is a collective haul. First of all I went on the ELF (EyesLipsFace) website and ordered some make up brushes. As a special offer they also threw in a free mystery bag worth £9. This got me very excited as I love a bargain (and what more of a bargain can you get!) Delivery was really quick and the quality of the brushes is fabulous. I highly recommend them. In my mystery bag I got eye shadow, blusher, eye liner and lip gloss all in colours that I tend to wear so I was a very happy girl! The products seem great. I haven't used them yet but I've tested them quickly and I'm excited to try them soon

Also in my make up haul I bought a few things mentioned in my last blog. I picked up another Rimmel Apocalips (this time in apocalyptic) and 2 more Barry M Gelly hi-shine nail varnishes (in pomegranate and satsuma) After hearing rave reviews about collection's concealer I picked one up and I have to say it has lived up to the hype! Lastly I bought a Rimmel scandalsyes in Bronze (for when I have a tan on holiday) and an Essie nail varnish in Fiji which is a gorgeous baby pink colour. I've had it on my nails for 3 days now and no wear yet so it's all good!

The last things on my haul are beauty products.

I picked up a new nail file as mine was absolutely rubbish and also popped into lush for a pot of their popcorn lip scrub which I am in love with! I then stopped off at the Soap & Glory section in Boots and picked up some hand cream, daily moisturiser and a pore cleaning mask. The mask is amazing. You only need a grape sized amount and as soon as it touches your skin it heats up and you feel it actually working. When I washed it off my face felt smooth and squeaky clean. Another recommendation from me!

Well that's my haul, they don't happen very often but I enjoy them when they do!

Easter Treats

Hi!

I thought I'd blog about my Easter treats as my last blog was a bit intense! It will also be a bit of a review as I got some beauty products.

First off, the normal Easter gift ......... CHOCOLATE!!! Now let's see if you can guess my favourite??

My next present was something I was very excited about. Rimmel Apocalips lip lacquer. The colour I got was Nova which is a gorgeous bright pink.

It applies really well and is super glossy. After the gloss has worn away, your lips still hold the colour. The applicator is really good as it has a hollow bit in the middle that holds the product giving an even application. I will be buying the different colours for sure!

My last gift was a Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine nail varnish in Watermelon. This is brilliant and again I will be getting the different colours for my collection.

This only takes one coat to apply and dries really quickly. The brush is quite thick so it goes on easily but be aware it holds A LOT of product so be careful! As the name suggests, it is super shiny so you don't need a top coat to add shine. I would say to make sure you use a base coat as the colour is very rich so without one it may stain your nails. It lasts well, I had mine on for 4 days before it started to chip so I think that's pretty good going.

I would recommend both products (and of course the chocolate!)

Cheers
