A day being a Pear

Hi!

Last weekend me, the Mr and our friend Si went to watch Worcestershire v Somerset 20 20 league cricket. (Worcester are known as the Pears)

I love going to the cricket and the weather was looking to be fab.
Whilst watching the match we managed to come up with and arrange a trip to Europe at Christmas which was quite random!

Somerset set a good chase total and Worcestershire didn't start that well losing a wicket really early on. However they fought back and managed to win the game with the last but one ball of the game!
We were lucky with the weather as as soon as the match had finished and we were in the pub the heavens opened and it never stopped raining for the rest of the night. My luck is usually the complete opposite!

If you enjoy sport but have never been to a cricket match I suggest you do. 20 20 is quick paced and they play music when big hits are made. I also love a test match which is more of your classic cricket game. At the moment I am loving the Ashes.

Some say cricket is boring but I disagree. It can get very tense and exciting plus you very rarely leave sober. The crowds are always up for a laugh and there is never any trouble.

I don't like cricket, I LOVE it!

Take That and Party!

Hi!

I thought I would share with you a slight obsession that goes back to the 90s. It all started when my Mom and Dad bought me a tape (yes, I said tape!) called Take That and Party. My obsession began!

My room was covered in posters, my school stationary was covered with the TT logo and my life was consumed with all things Mark, Gary, Robbie, Howard and Jason.

The only thing I never got to do was to see them live. School friends would come into class the day after going to a show and the envy I felt was huge. I always said it was the one thing I wanted to do that I would never get to as first Robbie left and then the group was no more :( I wasn't one of the girls you saw crying and wailing on the TV at this news but I was upset.

Fast forward a few years and the rumours started that a reunion tour was in the pipeline. Here was my chance to tick that things to do box. Luckily I managed to get tickets and I'm not embarrassed to admit that at the show I resorted to acting as I would have the first time round!

Since the comeback tour I have been lucky enough to go to every tour since. At the circus tour me and my sister managed to get right at the front (it took 7 hours of queuing but it was so worth it!)

The icing on the cake was the last album and tour when Robbie returned. I finally felt at the progress tour that I had experienced all that I missed out on the first time.

Some people hate boybands but for me Take That will always be my number one.

ASOS Haul

Hi!

Last week I was home alone with the iPad and the ASOS app. This would only ever end one way especially as they had a 70% off sale. Yep, I went and had a little splurge (but who can blame me, right?)

I wasn't looking for anything inparticular which in a way was worse for my bank balance!

Here's what landed in my shopping cart.

The purse is not something I needed but I fell in love with it and at £5 it was a total bargain.

Make up items were bought. I was excited to see they had the Rimmel scandaleyes in bulletproof beige as I had been looking everywhere for it only to find it sold out. It is as good as I expected. Really creamy and easy to apply. This stays put all day and I have been using it as a base and on lazy days, as an eyeshadow on its own. The second makeup item was the Rimmel wake me up concealer as I had heard rave reviews about it. All I can say is it is ok. I have really dark circles under my eyes and this doesn't cover them as well as my beloved collection concealer. It will stay in my makeup bag for the very rare days when I feel my circles aren't that dark.

My next purchase was the beautiful bright blue skirt. I usually don't wear skirts above the knee but I recently decided that my legs aren't as bad as I thought and this would be the perfect skirt to begin my leg showing journey!

The last item that 'fell' into my bag was the gorgeous mint jumper. I was thinking ahead to autumn with this one as it is lightweight and really comfortable. I will wear it over a vest top as it is see through. It is really soft and I have a feeling it will be a staple come the cooler months.

So, there we have it. I think I was quite constrained considering the sale was so good (we won't mention the extra items that have been returned as they didn't fit!)

I love ASOS. The website is really easy to use, delivery is quick and the customer service is outstanding. If I'm ever looking for something in particular I will always go to this site first.

Barry M Gelly Hi Shine

Hi!

I have mentioned the Barry M Gelly Hi Shines briefly in this blog before but I love them so much I thought I would do a post on one of my favorite colours.

This colour is Pomegranate and is a lovely vibrant pink. As the sun has been shining lately I felt the need for really bright nails. It was a toss up between this and Satsuma which is a close second favorite in my collection.

The formula is great. It is a thick consistency that glides on to the nail effortlessly. Just one coat is needed as it is super pigmented. I haven't found a colour in this range yet that needs 2 or more coats.

As the name suggests, the finish is super shiny. You don't need top coat but I do put one on just to prolong the wear. I do highly recommend that you use a base coat as the colours are so bright and rich that your nails may be stained without one.

The wear of these is good. With a top coat I can get a week out of them before they are noticeably chipped.

They have just released more colours and I have my eye on a few already. At £3.99 each I think they are great value especially when price compared to the Essie nail varnishes. Boots and Superdrug often do offers on them too so that will give me more reasons to stock up on a variety of new colours!

I'm off to compile my shopping list!

Birthday Weekend

Hi!

This weekend was my birthday weekend. I turned the grand old age of 31!

On Saturday we headed down to London to do a spot of shopping and to see a show. We found all the shops we were looking for. The most important ones being & other stories (I really wanted to try their make up) and Choccywoccydoodah as I love chocolate and wanted to see the cakes up close.

After the shopping we headed towards the theatre stopping on the way to sink a beer or two. The show we went to see was Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (can you see a theme?!)

The show only opened a couple of weeks ago and I highly recommend it. It is a lot funnier than I thought and although they only sing one song from the original movie, the songs they have added are great. I really enjoyed myself.
On the Sunday it was my birthday. As we had stayed in Wembley we decided to have a wonder round the stadium before getting the train back to Euston. It was lovely just to have a wander in the sunshine.

Once we got to Euston we went for breakfast at my favorite place ever! Eds Diner is a 50s inspired diner that do amazing breakfasts. They had sent me a voucher for a free milkshake for my birthday so I had a pancake stack and an Oreo cookie milkshake. Not the healthiest but it was my birthday!

We then headed home to spend the rest of my birthday with Sunday dinner at the in laws and then just relaxing at home recovering from a wonderful but busy weekend (I have the blisters to prove it!)

We had the Monday off work to laze about and as the sun was mega hot we decided to have a BBQ for 2 for dinner. This was the perfect end to a great birthday.

I do love a good birthday weekend!

Kit

Hi!

This is KitKat, he runs our house.

Our cat Kit is a British Blue Shorthair and he rules the roost!

He is 2 (his birthday is March) and, as with children, the terrible twos have kicked in. He is impatient for food (and very greedy when he gets it!), likes playing with his loudest toys and loves to play fight.

We have had Kit since he was a kitten and having him was the best decision we have made in a long time. Our house is now a home and he is always at the door waiting for us at the end of a busy days work.

Cats are known to ease anxiety as they are calming and I have certainly found this to be true. He seems to know when I'm feeling a bit down and he comes and lies on me. Just stroking him calms me and makes me feel better almost immediately.

He is a naughty cat at times. He knocks things off the side, steals food when your not looking and I've had to stop buying fridge magnets from my travels as the bugger flicks them off!
He is a bit of a star in our family though as everyone loves him and his somewhat cheeky ways. I wouldn't have him any other way.

He's more than just a cat, he's KitKat, king of the castle, and long may he reign!

Much Love
