Alton Towers

Hi!

Today saw me, the Mr and our friends Sean and Heather spend the day at Alton Towers.

We had buy one get one free vouchers which was good as at £46.20 per adult it would have cost a small fortune.

We hit traffic on the way in so by the time we had got the tickets and got into the park it was 12:00.

The park was packed and queue times were long. We went to go on the new Smiler ride but with a 4 hour queue for a minute ride it seemed too much.

The rides we managed to go on were Rita, the log flume, the rapids, Nemesis, Air and we finished off with the classic pirate ship.

We really wanted to go on Oblivion and 13 as well as Smiler but queue times and closing times were against us.

We do have some more vouchers so we will probably go again later in the year and defiantly on a weekday as Saturday's are just too mental.

It has been a good day and another step towards getting over my anxiety.

We'll get you next time Smiler!

Much Love

Latest in Beauty Glamour Box

Hi!

I subscribe to a few beauty YouTube channels and read a few beauty blogs. One of my favourite bloggers/youtubers is Miss Budget Beauty. It was reading this blog www.missbudgetbeauty.co.uk that I first heard about Latest in Beauty. It is a company similar to glossy box. I had been thinking of subscribing to glossy box for a while but was always in 2 minds as when I watch un-boxing YouTube videos I always found myself only interested in half of what was in the box. The great thing about Latest in Beauty is that you can see exactly what is in the box and you don't have to subscribe. You can just order a box when it takes your fancy. I quickly found a box that was full of things that I would like to try.

The box is called the glamour box and is £14.95 including postage & packaging. The best thing about the price is that the contents is actually worth £65! Ordering was simple and the box was delivered within 3 days.

This is what is in this box

Revlon nail enamel in shade 440 Siren. This is a really nice orange colour making it perfect for summer. This product is actually full size.

Original Batiste dry shampoo. I am excited to try this as this is something I have heard loads of good things about. It is a 50ml can so is perfect to keep in my bag.

Benefit The Pore Fessional. I love Benefit products but they can be quite pricey so I am glad I get to try this first before I decide to buy. This is a 7.5ml sample.

Stila lip glaze in shade piƱata. This is full size and the colour looks like it will be perfect for summer. It's a lovely shimmery rose pink.

The Vintage Company tweezers. These couldn't have come at a better time as I needed to throw my old ones out.

John Frieda Frizz-Ease serum. Perfect for my often frizzy hair. At 25ml it's a great travel size as I always have to lug about my bigger bottle when travelling.

Ginvera green tea exfoliating marvel gel. This is something completely new to me. I have never heard of this product so I'm looking forward to trying it. It is a 10g sample.

L'Oreal super liner gel. This again is full size and its something I have never tried before. I usually stick to pencils so it will be interesting to see how I get on with this. It comes with a brush to apply and is in golden black

JinnyLash false eyelashes. I've only ever tried false eyelashes once and didn't really get on with them so I will probably pass these on.

Also included in the box is a list of discounts that each brand is offering to you so there a further savings to be had!

There is a huge amount of stuff in here and if your like me and prefer to try before you buy, Latest in Beauty is well worth checking out.

I definitely will be buying more boxes in the future for sure.

Camp and the bells ......

Hi!

Last weekend saw me, the Mr and our friends, Matt, Lynz and Simon, go camping. We went to a site near Matlock called Middlehills Farm. It was our first time camping there and I was a little worried that we wouldn't enjoy it as much as when we go to our usual camping site. There was nothing to worry about as the site was great.

It has 3 fields to pitch up in, toilet blocks, shower facilities and a really well stocked shop. The one major difference with this site is the amount of animals they have. There are 2 goats, 2 pigs with 2 babies, chickens, cockerels and cows. There is also a brilliant playground for the young 'uns and on the Saturday they even bought out a bouncy castle slide so I would recommend this site for families.

We pitched up in glorious weather and thankfully the rain waited until we were finished. Now, it normally rains when we go camping so we are used to it. We have a gazebo so that helps too!

On the Friday night we lounged round the camp. On Saturday we went into Matlock to get supplies then we decided to have a hour in Matlock Bath on the arcades. We then headed back to camp to drop off the cars and make the short walk to the pub nearby. Now, to say this pub was a dump would be an understatement. My glass was black and the Mr couldn't even finish his pint so that shows how pap the beer was. We decided to make a swift exit and go back to camp, collect the cars and go to the pub that we usually go to near our regular site.

When we got there, we were greeted by some kind of village fete and much to the delight of Si, Morris dancers!! Every time one of the dancers walked into the pub, every little ring of every little bell went through Si and we all found this hilarious. (Us laughing may have made it worse!)

After a few hours, and with Si's ears ringing, we went back to site for the night. The wind was bad and the camp fire smoked us out so bad me and Lynz ended up sitting in the car for a bit. This didn't matter though as we were soon back outside with the others.

In typical English camping tradition, the Sunday morning we were going home, the sun couldn't have been brighter and the wind was nonexistant.

After bailing 10 frying pans of water out of Matt and Lynz's tent (yes, Matt left the tent door open on the first night in the rain!) we were all packed up ready to head back to our mod cons.

Camping is such an easy and cheap way to have a break. I really enjoy getting away from the iPad and telly and just spending time with friends without something interrupting.

So if your thinking about going camping but are still in 2 minds, take the leap and get your tent out.

You will not regret it at all.

Every day I'm shufflin'

Hi!

They say you can tell a lot about a person from what's on their iPod. Well, with well over 2000 songs on mine, I'm not so sure. I like a lot of different genres.

I have decided to put my iPod on shuffle and tell you the first 10 songs that come on.

This should be fun .......

1. Higher - The Saturdays

2. Hey Baby - Bruce Channel (off Dirty Dancing)

3. If I give you my number - PJ & Duncan

4. Fake tales of San Francisco - Arctic Monkeys

5. Where's your head at - Basement Jaxx

6. Now I'm here - Queen

7. Ain't that a kick in the head - Westlife

8. Why me, Why now - The Saturdays (album track)

9. Do your thing - Basement Jaxx

10. I'm alive - The Hollies (an oldie but a goodie!)

So, that's my first 10 songs and I promise you the next 1990 or so are just as random.

Can you tell much about me from this? No, I don't think you can .....

A week of anniversaries

Hi!

This week has seen two anniversaries.

Firstly on 3rd June, me and the Mr celebrated 7 years of marriage. It still feels like yesterday and if I could do it again I wouldn't change a thing.

To marry my best friend and soul mate infront of all the people we love was a true blessing and I'm thankful that I can relive the day by watching our DVD as there are people who celebrated with us who are no longer here.

My other anniversary was today! I have been at my work for 1 year and how it has flown! This may seem like a little thing but for me starting a new job was really scary. You see, I had been at my last job for 11 years from when I left college until I was made redundant. I was in my comfort zone and very happy to stay that way. If it wasn't for the redundancy I would probably have never pushed myself to something new.

So, the message is go on push yourself even if it's scary. It will be OK!
